work experience day 5

Friday

yoyo. first of all.
HAPPY BIRTHDAYYY TRACEYY!~
i really should give you a nickname.
hahahaha.... hope you had a wonderful and love-filled day~
woot woot.

TODAY was freaking burning hot.
eww... all sticky and gross.
LOL. i bought mascara yesterday and applied today.
it's kinda not that great in quality. but what do you expect from some cheap ass shop. ^^
well it was my turn in the cancer care centre today.
seemed like nobody had gone before me.

well. i woke up kinda normal time.
i got to the station for normal time train.
LOL. saw tiny victor and brother.... xDD
well.... then i caught the train to wolli creek, changed to kogarah.
in between, there were actually security guards checking our tickets.
and one asked me to show a student card.
luckily i got one eh??

onwards to kogarah.
it was kinda hot in the morning,
so i walked ultra slowly to the hospital.
and was still early.
i went in there at 8.25am.
it was not until 9.10am that someone actually came for me.
so i spent like 40 minutes, doing basically nothing.

when i did start,
i was put in test room 1,
where the patients were being treated with radiotherapy for their cancers.
poor peoples.
alot of them had breast/prostate cancers.
it's unbelievable that over the course of 5 days in a hospital,
how many naked body parts you see.

some ladies only had one breast.
and on the other side was a surgery mark.
sad. some had normal two,
but you still saw them half naked.
guys were being treated in their pelvic area.
and so yeah. ^^"
the people operating the machines,
had markers to draw all over their bodies.
and in those areas.

the machines were called linear accelerators.
i feel so smart. HAHAHA.
they just shoot out radiation.
and we can't be in the same room obviously.
it got kinda repetitive after the first one.

then it was tea time~~~
and then CT.
again. HAHAHAHAHA. ^^
well since there wasn't much happening,
they took me to the simulator room.
that's where they have these planning machines,
and just try and figure out the volume they have to treat a patient.
munch munch away...

THEN at 12pm,
they led me to the CT room,
where someone was having a scan.
pelvic area on a woman.
poor poor peoples. hope they're happy.
they looked pretty jolly.

saw the segments of her body...
and blah blah....
different to the CT scans in the radiology department.
they're not coloured~~
they're all black to white in this centre. the horror.

well at like 12.45,
they sent me off to lunch,
how wonderful.
bought sushi, and a smoothie thingy from woolworths,
and went to their library.
soooo AWESOME. they have manga.
so i read some,
then i went back to the hospital,
and was actually like 3 minutes off time. late.

buuuut nobody was there anyway.
as expected.
went back to CT.
noone paid attention.
so it was like free time~~ wee~~ yaaay.
buuut no. it's kinda boring sitting around doing nothing.
so i did my journal. mhm. ^^

sooo... the guy took me to test room 2....
another one of those linear accelerators, but a much more advanced and new one.
and for the rest of my work hours,
i just watched patients go in and out of the therapy room.
watched the statistics and nice pretty x-rays... and stuff.
hohohoho....
the supervisor was nice and let me go home at 4.10pm
woohoo. early mark.
that was awesome.

overall, i think my work experience was a great big blob of a success.
YAAAAY.
i was sooo soooo happy.
so i went to the city,
met my mum,
and couldn't stop smiling and laughing~
and my mum thought i was going mental. ^^
HAHAHAHAHA.

ate KFC. oh dear. the calories.
then took a bus to dance.
the epitome of my life.
wonderful.
ROFL. not.
it was smokin' hot in that dance studio.
with like 20 or more students,
a heap of parents,
a heap of adult dancers. funny. xDD
the air as you can imagine was pretty stuffy.
this time,
our costumes aren't crash hot either.
not fairrr....
and a random girl said that she liked my dancing.
yaaaay! -clap clap-
happy happy now.

got home and was like NOOOOO...
flop.
ate watermelon. delicious.
espescially in this weather. oh the joy.

just need physics to go. yoohoo.
realised that anthony and people aren't gonna be there.
AHAHAHAHA. have fun. partyyy!

let's see....
tomorrow is our dance performance.
i'm not gonna get home until like....
hmmm...9pm or 10pm.
awww man.... i wanna watch the cool movies on TV.
oh wells. :DDDD

ohmygosh!~
and my mum is going to buy me this really COOL dress thingy.
it's kinda formal. and soooo pretty~
my mum said i looked kinda skinny. YAY. ^^
it's a one piece dress, but with 2 sections.
from the waits downwards it's like those office skirts that hug your hips and it's black to your knees.
then, on the top, it's a hot pink and black short blouse thingy,
that's sewed into the black skirt. it's sooo cool.
i wore it with my formal high heels.
felt so tall and kinda round.
buuut anyways....
i just realised,
how am i gonna survive so many hours in heels.
i walked aorund in them for 5 minutes,
and got tired. oh noes. xDDD
oh well. hope i don't die.

it's gonna feel weird going to school again.
